Rib Stitching Tools
Rib stitching secures the fabric to the wing ribs. Superflite carries the cord and needles you need to do it properly.
Choose waxed linen rib lacing cord in two styles: flat cord (500-yard roll) for a lower-profile, less noticeable stitch, or round cord (600-yard roll) for a more traditional look. Our stainless steel rib stitching needles come in straight lengths from 4 to 20 inches, curved needles from 2 to 8 inches, and bent-tip needles in 4 and 12 inches, so you can reach through any wing depth.
Before stitching, apply reinforcement tape over the ribs. The System 7 manual shows stitch spacing and knots in detail.
